Welcome To My Blog

Thanks for checking the blog out... Hope it offers something a bit different every now & again. Though I come from a pseudo - Mod background (Soul & Ska in particular), I have a diverse taste in music & hope my varied posts will reflect this.

Cheers Skamanc .... I'm not after your undying gratitude, but please leave your thoughts, comments & opinions on the posts & content. I regularly up- & download material, plus buy and trade items. As such, if I have inadvertently "trodden on anyone's toes" in posting anything then please let me know & accept my apologies. Also please support the artists involved & remember that the blog is merely a pointer toward these various downloads, which are stored elsewhere. Legally, any downloads should not be retained for more than a week. So now I've told you the legal bit !

Gene Clark with The Gosdin Brothers (1967)

This was the ex Byrd's first album after leaving the band, and it is an excellent one. Essential listening... More Gene Clark to follow...

  1. dunno 'bout this one. One or two got me tapping.
But thank you once again .

  2. Hi Mark. Clark went more to the country side after leavng the Byrds, though thee are some crackers amongst his solo stuff. More to follow so please have a listen - he deserves much more than being a footnote on the story of the Byrds. Some rare ottakes & a live set due on soon...

  3. Yeah I noticed that in this one.The 1st half was very "country" . As your taste is excellent I'll have another listen ;)

  4. About to post the 1st two Byrds LP's also... some classic Clark sings on these. Similar style to his later material though he used more "countrified" sidemen & session players on his solo stuff...

  5. thanks for this one (feat. Clarence White on guitar)

  6. Thanks for the Gene Clark, excellent stuff.
Came lookin' after blogger closed rockin-byrd day after I found it :(
    Best regards,
