Welcome To My Blog

Thanks for checking the blog out... Hope it offers something a bit different every now & again. Though I come from a pseudo - Mod background (Soul & Ska in particular), I have a diverse taste in music & hope my varied posts will reflect this.

Cheers Skamanc .... I'm not after your undying gratitude, but please leave your thoughts, comments & opinions on the posts & content. I regularly up- & download material, plus buy and trade items. As such, if I have inadvertently "trodden on anyone's toes" in posting anything then please let me know & accept my apologies. Also please support the artists involved & remember that the blog is merely a pointer toward these various downloads, which are stored elsewhere. Legally, any downloads should not be retained for more than a week. So now I've told you the legal bit !

Gene Clark : White Light (1971) & Roadmaster (1972)

Two more albums from Gene Clark's post Byrds / solo canon : 1971's"White Light" (aka "Gene Clark") and "Roadmaster" from 1972. Have a listen - some real gems buried here...Clark's leaving the Byrds and untimely death mean that he still does not receive the acclaim his talent deserved. End of sermon...

The Damned / Doomed London Gigs 1977 - 1981

Last in the Damned series (for now) : Good vinyl rip of the Foxes @ The Sundown (18/8/77), OK soundboard from the Royal College of Art (as "The Doomed") on 19/10/78 & a reasonable vinyl rip from Hammermith Odeon, 13/8/81.

The Damned : Portsmouth, Los Angeles & Southampton (1977)

More live Damned tonight : Portsmouth Locarno Ball Room 20/3/77 (last date of the T-Rex tour), Starwood Club, LA (18/4/77) & Southampton University ( 20/5/77). The first two are good audience tapes, while the third is a decent (if slighty bassy) vinyl rip.

Julie Driscoll : 1969

Some great responses to the recent Julie Driscoll material, so here's "1969" - Julie's debut solo album. Hard to categorise as it displays a wide range of influences but that great voice is a constant...

The Damned : Birmingham (77), New York (77) & Croydon (79)

More Damned this afternoon...first up is a reasonable quality audience tape from the Birmingham Odeon (17/3/77). This is followed by a good audience recording of both sets from CBGB's, New York (7/4/77), and finally the Croydon Greyhound (14/1/79) - some audible crackling though VERY RARE !!
