Welcome To My Blog

Thanks for checking the blog out... Hope it offers something a bit different every now & again. Though I come from a pseudo - Mod background (Soul & Ska in particular), I have a diverse taste in music & hope my varied posts will reflect this.

Cheers Skamanc .... I'm not after your undying gratitude, but please leave your thoughts, comments & opinions on the posts & content. I regularly up- & download material, plus buy and trade items. As such, if I have inadvertently "trodden on anyone's toes" in posting anything then please let me know & accept my apologies. Also please support the artists involved & remember that the blog is merely a pointer toward these various downloads, which are stored elsewhere. Legally, any downloads should not be retained for more than a week. So now I've told you the legal bit !

THE PRISONERS : Leicester 30/4/86

This is what blogging is all about - receiving & sharing gems such as this...maximum respect & thanks to Nicola of Italy who has just shared this with me. Nicola is aiming to compile a website / database on The Prisoners gig history - please leave any details / information for this via the c-box or comments section... I will then pass this on to Nicola.
above... The Prisoners, 100 Club, Oxford St, London..

I am delighted to be able to post this diamond - The Prisoners live @ Prince Charlotte, Leicester, April 30th 1986. I was luck enough to see them a fortnight later (as support on The Ramones Tour) at Manchester Apollo with an old schoolfriend Chris Hargreaves (now of New Zealand). Still haven't managed to locate a recording of the Mcr gig, though I still live in hope a quarter of a century on !!! All these years later it is still a very clar memory & rates as one of the very best gigs I have ever attended...

Sound quality here  is admittedly not fantastic - as Nicola pointed out, this is a veteran cassette tape recording of probably much previous copying... Still, well worth the download & a great collection to any collection.

DO NOT MISS THIS ONE !!

PLEASE do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any Prisoners or related live tapes gathering dust...they need to be blogged HERE !!

  1. Nice one - and the sound quality ain't too bad!

The Prisoners were the first band I used to go and see regularly along with the Caesars and Daggermen, happy days! One of the few benefits of growing up around Medway (and therefore a Gills man, so I'll ignore your City leanings... Bloody Halsey...)

By way of a thankyou, here's a gig from Berlin. No other details and can't remember where I got it, but the track listing suggests '86:

  2. Many thanks TC - gratefully received & very much appreciated.

I've included your own Mediafire sharecode as well as Rapidshare & Sharebee - I'd like this available to as many blog visitors who want it. (I know many can't use Rapidshare).

1986 is very likely - similar set list to the Leicester gig as well as the Manchester Apollo gig I attended.

Thanks again & all the best, Skamanc.
