Interesting compilation album here, consisting of live and rehearsal tracks, one John Peel recording and some songs broadcast as a Piccadilly Radio (Manchester) session. They were often written off as Joy Division clones / copyists which is untrue - a recent quute I read described their sound as "dark, quirky pop", which is more accurate. They shared a record label with Joy Division and often supported them on tour. Alan Hempsall also stood in for Ian Curtis on several occasions, most notably @ the Derby Hall, Bury, as seen in the excellent "Control" film.

thanx very much
