Welcome To My Blog

Thanks for checking the blog out... Hope it offers something a bit different every now & again. Though I come from a pseudo - Mod background (Soul & Ska in particular), I have a diverse taste in music & hope my varied posts will reflect this.

Cheers Skamanc .... I'm not after your undying gratitude, but please leave your thoughts, comments & opinions on the posts & content. I regularly up- & download material, plus buy and trade items. As such, if I have inadvertently "trodden on anyone's toes" in posting anything then please let me know & accept my apologies. Also please support the artists involved & remember that the blog is merely a pointer toward these various downloads, which are stored elsewhere. Legally, any downloads should not be retained for more than a week. So now I've told you the legal bit !

JOY DIVISION : Les Bains Douches (1979) & No More Ceremonies (1980)

Last Joy Division post for a while... two renowned bootlegs tonight : Les Bains Douches (Paris, 18/12/79) & an uncredited London show from 1980 titled "No More Ceremonies". Along with "Gruftgaesenge", these titles were the ones to have back in the day...

  1. Hullo there Manchester SkaMan!

Came across your wonderful spot here the other day and have been furiously hoarding in between breaths of air and drops of grog. One thing I noticed right off, aside from the ne'er-seen-before live offerings, is that many of your efforts go uncommented on here. That's a true shame. I know it takes a deal of time to go through the process of getting all this tuneage up for share and wanted to say it is greatly, greatly appreciated. I would love to place a comment everywhere I see '0 COMMENTS' but argh! The Time!!

Anyway, especial gratitudes for Damned, Who, SLF, Jam, etc and Joy Division, for which I offer my humble l'il Cheers!

  2. Many thanks Stu. Yes, there is a lot of work "behind the scenes" - thanks for recognising this. It must also be said that this is a hobby only & is often a struggle, with ill health & funds (or lack of!!). All the best mate, Skamanc.

  3. thanx for the JD postings. no more ceremonies is the lyceum gig & your other posting is better sound. been looking for live versions of Atrocity exhibition with its monsterous guitar riff. i'm a great fan of hannet but i can't understand why he neutered the guitar on the closer version . let's get the master tapes and remix it! thanx again
