JOY DIVISION : Les Bains Douches (1979) & No More Ceremonies (1980)

Last Joy Division post for a while... two renowned bootlegs tonight : Les Bains Douches (Paris, 18/12/79) & an uncredited London show from 1980 titled "No More Ceremonies". Along with "Gruftgaesenge", these titles were the ones to have back in the day...

More live Joy Division as promised...Band On The Wall, Manchester (13/3/79) & the Ajanta Theatre, Derby (19/4/80). Band On The Wall has recently reopened after a major refurbishment - you may have seen their google ad's on the blog. Spent many good nights in there over the years & seen some great acts...

JOY DIVISION : High Hall, Birmingham University 2nd May 1980 (Final Gig).

A historic recording this afternoon, as this is the last ever gig performed by Joy Division, though it was never intended to be. They were less than a fortnight away fom their debut US tour, though Curtis' suicide ended the dream. Above is a photo from this gig & the Students Union poster.

Joy Division : Holland 1980

Two Dutch Joy Division live boots, from January 1980. First up is the Amsterdam Paradiso (11/1/80), sometimes titled "Gruftgesaenge" or "An Evening With Joy Division", followed by a recording from the Effenaar in Eindhoven (18/1/80).
