Welcome To My Blog

Thanks for checking the blog out... Hope it offers something a bit different every now & again. Though I come from a pseudo - Mod background (Soul & Ska in particular), I have a diverse taste in music & hope my varied posts will reflect this.

Cheers Skamanc .... I'm not after your undying gratitude, but please leave your thoughts, comments & opinions on the posts & content. I regularly up- & download material, plus buy and trade items. As such, if I have inadvertently "trodden on anyone's toes" in posting anything then please let me know & accept my apologies. Also please support the artists involved & remember that the blog is merely a pointer toward these various downloads, which are stored elsewhere. Legally, any downloads should not be retained for more than a week. So now I've told you the legal bit !

Paul Weller : Exclusive Mojo EP / Wake Up The Nation

Exclusive 3 track Paul Weller EP promoting the new album, "Wake Up The Nation", released next week (April 19th). Available as a free promo download via Mojo magazine. Skamanc has, therefore, saved you a trip to the newsagents...!! These sound pretty good & for me seem something of a return to form for Weller. Have a listen & share your thoughts with a like minded audience here on the blog...
Track details as follow : "Pieces Of A Dream" - One of the stand out tracks from the new album, this quickly became a favourite on Weller's last UK tour ; "7 + 3 Is The Striker's Name" : A  live version of the (download only) first single from the album. It's one of the most abrasive Weller tracks for years ; & "Echoes Round The Sun" - Lead single from 2008's no1 album "22 Dreams" is given a very fine live treatment.

  2. A nice return to form for Mister Weller. No Tears To Cry is a stunning song and the new album is quite good too. By the way, this blog is fantastic. I had someone recommend your blog to me because I was looking for the England I Miss You boot single. Keep up the great work. I will be visiting for now on.
