Welcome To My Blog

Thanks for checking the blog out... Hope it offers something a bit different every now & again. Though I come from a pseudo - Mod background (Soul & Ska in particular), I have a diverse taste in music & hope my varied posts will reflect this.

Cheers Skamanc .... I'm not after your undying gratitude, but please leave your thoughts, comments & opinions on the posts & content. I regularly up- & download material, plus buy and trade items. As such, if I have inadvertently "trodden on anyone's toes" in posting anything then please let me know & accept my apologies. Also please support the artists involved & remember that the blog is merely a pointer toward these various downloads, which are stored elsewhere. Legally, any downloads should not be retained for more than a week. So now I've told you the legal bit !

The Time's They Are A Changin'

Here we are a full 3 weeks from the New Year & I'm in a state of great change... January the 1st is traditionally a time to make resolutions & change the not - so - good aspects of your life for the better, but I have the opportunity to geat ahead by those 21 days.

Basicaly my wife and I have split up and are now living apart (for two weeks now actually), which has given me something of a window to take stock of my life. I have made the decision to go self employed in the New Year, as I have plenty of work waiting as a sub - contractor in my trade of Auto Electrics.

I am setting up as a one - man band called "English Auto Electrics", hence the related blog site you may have seen in my links here. If I don't make some positive changes like this now, I reckon I never will, as I'm 42 years old later this month.

I have discussed this with my gaffer @ work, and he's being very supportive, letting me stay on for as few or as many shifts as I want while I take the plunge into self employment.

Obviously I will be continuing the blog, so no need to worry there...

I realise this is a big diversion from the usual blogging content, but I just wanted to get a couple of issues off my chest.

So... Thanks everyone for listening !

  1. HEY MATE,
your world is in motion. i hate all these wise words and the call for perseverance.i don`t want to say something like that.
you open new doors, new perspectives - but all in all - it is always hard to change the life.
i read we humans have every 7 years a radical change.
wish you energy and power - all the best.
    your`s Herr Pauli

  2. Hope everything works out great for you mate. Every year I think "next one will be better" ......Still waiting. But things could be worse. So keep your chin up!
Keep up the great work on here.....Love your music taste!!!
Just a pity about your choice of footie team! Rob, Robin Van Persieeeee :)

  3. I hope everything works out well for you. Keep on keepin' on. Cheers.

  4. Good luck mate ;).Been doing a few changes meself . Started learning the bass !!

  5. Wish You The Best For Everything You Plan In The New Year Skamanc.
Life's Hard For Everyone,So Keep It Up Alive And Kickin' Mate.

  6. Sorry to hear about the upheaval, mate, but all change is painful and staying stuck in a rut fearing to change is the same as death. All power to your elbow, glad to hear you're getting support and I'm sending you and your readers a little Christmas present to bring a smile to your lips in these chilly times. Cheers, Dave Sez.

  7. best of luck for the future

  8. Have a good Christmas and Happy New Year. Thanks for all your great posts in 2012 and look forward to 2013
