POLY STYRENE : Generation Indigo (2011)
Here is Poly's final work, the recently released (March 2011) Generation Indigo album.
Thank you mate, i have heard some of the tracks it is really good album, she looks so well as well,some other site is blogging an early single she done before x-ray spex which should be interesting,still in shock really.
Never a great fan of x-ray specs but got to admit poly was a fucking legend and will be sorely missed, look forward to giving this a listen R.I.P. Poly
I see your point Longy. However, I did go out & actually buy the album on its release. Plus I had numerous requests for it to be posted so there we go. At least it'll be now listened to by various people who probably wouldn't have ever bought the thing...
So did I mate and I'm sure a lot of people brought it yesterday too on hearing the terrible news of Poly's death. The point is 1) Its new 2) Poly can't exactly tell you to take it down and 3) Any money made from the album would probably be very handy to her family to pay for her funeral. And that is why I think its bang out of order. Loads of people are posting X-Ray Spex stuff and that is to be expected but this is only £6.99 on itunes.
Its only my opinion (for what its worth) and I'm probably being a bit over sensitive but that is the way I feel about it.
from what i remember of being a punk in the 70's is that the establishment isthere to be screwed!!! but what the hell......... little girls should be seen and not heard!!!!!!!!!! ohh bondage up yours thanks ska she was a legend RIP poly gone but not forgoten
I take your point on board longy, but out of that 6.99 from apple, polys relatives only get about 60p yet the record company gets a whopping 50% despite having no real overheads. see http://www.tomrobinson.com/records/music/index.html for a breakdown of how itunes costs are split. a better idea in my opinion would be a website be set up where we could donate to either funeral costs or to the families charities of choice

Hey Corbypunk do you actually live in Corby as I lived there in the early 70's --80's before moving up to sunny Glasgow. Do you remember a band called Sly Wicked and Slick a great reggae band
I'll wager loads of people did just that Dodgy. It's one thing having an mp3 file on the hdd, though many like physically having the actual disc, insert, smell of the vinyl, the sleeve or wehatever.
Too true! i love getting a record and reading sleeve notes etc but love blogs like skamancs for all the rare bootlegs/ collections you just can`t get. Yes i live in corby fatbhoy, there was some great bands back inthe day lost souls sly wicked and slick laughing mothers. used to love the free festival down the boating lake every year. However, much changed now, pauline black played the raven the other week and bout 60 people went pitiful!
partly the fault of the lad who put the night on though, it was 15 quid on door only.chatting to him on the night a lot of us were saying mates were put off by the price, if he`d have put it on for 10-12 quid he`d probably have sold the place out

On listening to this and reading all the comments went into the emporium that is HMV and purchased a copy of this disc
