Welcome To My Blog
Thanks for checking the blog out... Hope it offers something a bit different every now & again. Though I come from a pseudo - Mod background (Soul & Ska in particular), I have a diverse taste in music & hope my varied posts will reflect this.
Cheers Skamanc .... I'm not after your undying gratitude, but please leave your thoughts, comments & opinions on the posts & content. I regularly up- & download material, plus buy and trade items. As such, if I have inadvertently "trodden on anyone's toes" in posting anything then please let me know & accept my apologies. Also please support the artists involved & remember that the blog is merely a pointer toward these various downloads, which are stored elsewhere. Legally, any downloads should not be retained for more than a week. So now I've told you the legal bit !

TRAFFIC : Mr Fantasy (1967)
Great to be back & able to blog again... As mentioned recently while posting Steve Winwood's first recordings, I was intending to post some Traffic material, and here's their debut album, Mr Fantasy, from 1967. (This download is an mp3 of a Japanese released remaster).
Excellent outfit, consisting of Winwood, drummer / lyricist Jim Capaldi, guitarist Dave Mason & flautist / sax player Chris Wood. A great mixture of styles and influences, including free form jazz, rock, psychedelic pop & English folk, this outfit really made Winwood's name, especially in the States.
Further Traffic to follow, including more abums plus live recordings.
For Liam-Ska - top man !!
Dedicated to the late Jim Capaldi, Chris Wood & Dave Mason.

Steve lives near Turkdean i bumped into him in Cheltenmham one day in the mid 80's He played a warm up gig at Chelenham Town Hall a number of years ago...a mate recorded it i have a copy it sounded a good gig
ReplyDeleteSmall world eh ? I have checked up & Capaldi was indeed from Evesham. Thanks for your time & interest & for leaving a comment. Feel free to e-mail me if you fancy sharing the Cheltenham gig with the blog. All the best, Skamanc.
