Welcome To My Blog

Thanks for checking the blog out... Hope it offers something a bit different every now & again. Though I come from a pseudo - Mod background (Soul & Ska in particular), I have a diverse taste in music & hope my varied posts will reflect this.

Cheers Skamanc .... I'm not after your undying gratitude, but please leave your thoughts, comments & opinions on the posts & content. I regularly up- & download material, plus buy and trade items. As such, if I have inadvertently "trodden on anyone's toes" in posting anything then please let me know & accept my apologies. Also please support the artists involved & remember that the blog is merely a pointer toward these various downloads, which are stored elsewhere. Legally, any downloads should not be retained for more than a week. So now I've told you the legal bit !

THE VAPORS : Live Guildford 1981 (BBC Rock Hour)

Here's a great archive find by Martin - The Vapors recorded live in Guildford, 1981 (possibly supporting The Jam) for the BBC Rock Hour Show. In fact, they were co-managed for a while by Bruce Foxton & John Weller...

Best remembered now for their hit "Turning Japanese" but have a listen & enjoy this blast from the past...

  1. Big thanks for this Mr Ska!! Always loved these guys. Thought they got short-changed as "one hit wonders", especially here in the US.

  4. think we must be listening to the same stuff skaman! i bought this while ago from ebay and its very good, ive got a page on my blog regarding the new clear days album, these where such a underrated band, and clearly the success of japanese turned them into a novelty band, saw them a few times supporting the jam and also on there own tour, again a truly great recording from what i reckon is the 1st major britpop band!
