Welcome To My Blog

Thanks for checking the blog out... Hope it offers something a bit different every now & again. Though I come from a pseudo - Mod background (Soul & Ska in particular), I have a diverse taste in music & hope my varied posts will reflect this.

Cheers Skamanc .... I'm not after your undying gratitude, but please leave your thoughts, comments & opinions on the posts & content. I regularly up- & download material, plus buy and trade items. As such, if I have inadvertently "trodden on anyone's toes" in posting anything then please let me know & accept my apologies. Also please support the artists involved & remember that the blog is merely a pointer toward these various downloads, which are stored elsewhere. Legally, any downloads should not be retained for more than a week. So now I've told you the legal bit !

HERE COME THE NICE : A Mod Soundtrack

Here's a download of the free CD that came with the May 2011 issue of Uncut magazine. I never buy it as its usually shite, but read the Marriott article in WH Smiths, and I got the CD for 10p at a Car Boot Sale this morning !! Nothing obscure or rare on here but a reasonable compilation all the same.

Manchester City FA Cup 2011

Dedicated to my beloved Club. For all Blues and every player from the 1969 & 2011 Cup Winning Teams. I saw Tony Book (69 Captain, later Manager & current Club President... bottom pic holding the Cup...) by Sale Tesco yesterday morning. A genuine unspoken moment - he spotted my shirt, beamed & we shook hands.

Special mention for the late Neil Young (goalscorer from 1969).

Also for Ska Fan Cheryl Parker - who is singlehandedly keeping the City flame going in North Carolina.

JOHN MAYALL & THE BLUESBREAKERS : A Hard Road (1967)

Here's Mayall's seminal Bluesbreakers featuring a young Peter Green. (Left face on LP sleeve). A fantastic player even then... For Martin & Pauli.
