However, having had a listen, hearing a Back Door track and a Robert Johnson blues done by Colin, Jan Hammer and keyboards and drums (ex-Frumpy) is worth bending an ear - i.e. the above-mentioned 1982 Jan Hammer gig. I checked what was still up before starting this reincarnation of the Colin megapost. As for rockrarecollectionfetish, they provide a useful indexing service (but many links are only sugarmegs) and a great new-covers source - thanks for the reminder to go look, I think we know where the "Live Decade 76-85" came from now. As for the BBC 1975 session, either the tracks are mistitled and on Human Bed, or you've found traces of as an yet uncirculated session ... thrills! Meanwhile, if you're into Diez's other early work with Atlantis and Emergency, send an email to skamanc to forward to me ... personally, I find only Armageddon and the Electric Blues Duo convincing ... but the Jon Lord Blues Project is well worth a listen! A question for you: do you know of or have any other unofficial Colin-related recordings apart from the Electric Blues Duo Mannheim '89 and the two Back Door recordings? I only know of studio outtakes for Cozy Powell's Octopussy album, rehearsals for the Whitesnake Saints and Sinners tour and a couple of Whitesnake live recordings (from memory, Ludwigshafen and Japan) - all of which are on the heavier hard rock end that I don't enjoy so much. Oh, and there is one live recording of Colin with Jan Hammer on February 3, 1982 at Painter's Mill Star Theatre, Owings Mills, Maryland, USA (which I can up if requested) and four gigs with SpencerDavisGroup1996-11-26, SpencerDavisGroup2001-04-06JubezCafeKasselGermany, SpencerDavisGroup2004-03-23HirschNuernbergGermany and SpencerDavisGroup2006-05-06 - these four available (in low bitrate) from http://tela.sugarmegs.org/alpha/s.html and scroll down.

Cheers, Dave Sez.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-958032598086292056.post-12401421663470906632012-07-06T22:18:28.812+01:002012-07-06T22:18:28.812+01:00Fantastic post.
